Mr. Sachkov graduated with honors from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, where he studied Information Security. Being a student, in 2003 he founded Group-IB, the company that soon became one of the leading international companies specializing in the prevention and investigation of high-tech cybercrimes and fraud.
Today Group-IB leverages its 14 years’ expertise in cybercrime investigations to provide innovative solutions for business and government.

Ilya Sachkov is a member of various international associations, such as the International Information Systems Forensics Association (IISFA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and the Honeynet Project. He is also a member of cybercrime expert committees in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Council of Europe, and the OSCE. Additionally, Ilya is a co-chair of the Cybercrime Committee at the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC). He has also been a member of the PIR Center EKS Working Group on International Information Security and Global Internet Governance since 2012.
Ilya Sachkov has won a number of awards for his technological and entrepreneurial achievements. In 2010, he became the first Russian to win the Digital Crimes Consortium award for his contribution to international exchange of experience in the field of computer forensics. In 2015 and 2016 he received EY Entrepreneur of the Year National Award in IT-related categories. Ilya Sachkov has been involved in a number of research and academic projects on information security. He is a member of World Economic Forum working group on cybersecurity.
In 2016, Group-IB CEO ranked among the brightest young entrepreneurs under 30 according to Forbes magazine. In 2017 IDC Report named Group-IB the leader of the Russian Threat Intelligence Services Market.
