Abdul-Hakeem Ajijola (AhA), a global Cybersecurity resource, is ranked #13 in the IFSEC 2018 Global Cybersecurity professionals influencers and thought leaders list. He is concurrently a Commissioner for the Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace (#theGCSC). He is also Chair of the Working Group on Cyber Incident Management and Critical Information Protection of Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE) and is listed on the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) Roster of Experts supporting the development of an online training course in “Cyberdiplomacy.”
He is a founding member of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation – Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT), instigator of the Office of the National Security Adviser Nigeria Computer Emergency Response Team (NGCERT), implemented the National Information Technology Development Agency Nigerian Computer Emergency Readiness & Response ecosystem (CERRT.ng) & member of both the Nigerian Cybercrime Working Group and Group of Experts for the Nigerian Senate Committee on Cybersecurity and ICT.
He was a former Senior Special Assistant Innovation & Technology to the National Security Adviser to the President of Nigeria. He also participated in drafting the 2001 National IT Policy, ICT4D Strategic Action Plan, National ICT in Education Policy & aspects of the Policy on Space Science & Technology, National Standards & Guidelines for e-Library in Nigeria, National Framework on Building Women & Youths Knowledge-Based Nation through IT. He also provides support to the Honourable Minister of Communications on Nigeria ICT Roadmap 2016-2019 and the Nigeria Information and Communications Technology Sector Strategic Plan 2016-2020.
He is resource person to the ITU Arab Regional Cyber Security Centre Oman, to UNESCO on the “Feasibility Study on the development of a Virtual Library by Institutions of Higher Education” in Nigeria, the ECOWAS Commission on the ECOWAS Wide Area Network (ECOWAN), the South East Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and on Cyber Security in Countering Terrorism & Violent Extremism for the OIC headquarters, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
He has attended several programmes including Science, Technology & Innovation Policy at the prestigious Harvard University, as well as certifications from the MIS Training Institute, Massachusetts, USA in Large Scale Computer Forensics, Incident Response, International Security in the Interconnected World & The Forum on Information Warfare, including certifications on Digital Forensics with Forensics Recovery Evidence Device (FRED) by Digital Intelligence, Inc., USA, Universal Forensic Extraction Device’ (UFED) by Cellebrite and with Cyber Security Capability and Capacity Building certification by Cyber Security Malaysia.
AhA’s day time job is Chairman, Consultancy Support Services (CS2) Ltd., a Cyber Security, e-Library and Information Communication Technology (ICT) Policy Consultancy Firm, based in Abuja, Nigeria.
He is working to kick-start the development of an Africa CyberSecurity Economic sub sector employing thousands of knowledge workers, below 35 years of age, who will profitably drive CyberSecurity solutions value chains to solve problems, many of which don’t yet exist.
He has traveled extensively and has nurtured strong social capital in the private & public sectors as well as in academia & civil society.
